We tried to stop at every beautiful sight we could see; nothing. The brakes would not work, our synapses were occupied. In South Africa they put tires around people’s necks, fill them with gasoline and you can imagine what happens next. I wonder what desire a consumer society has; I want to know what a true (or at least more just) desire is.
